Activated carbon is an acid-washed, highly activated form of activated carbon made from selected steam-activated hard coal with low ash content. The selection of high-quality hard coal in combination with intensive washing and neutralisation ensures a high degree of purity. Due to its large total pore volume and high density for rapid wettability, it has very good adsorption properties. As it is excellent at binding organic and chemical pollutants such as pesticides, medication residues and other hydrocarbon compounds, is largely free of heavy metals and pH-neutral, it is particularly suitable for use in aquariums and ponds, but also for high-performance applications and in the production of ultrapure water.
At the same time, activated carbon ensures that no ozone enters the pond when using an ozone device. Ozone that comes into contact with activated carbon is chemically broken down again in a very short time.
If you use a Genesis filter, add 2 handfuls of activated carbon from time to time. The carbon filters out any discolouration in your water. The carbon is then disposed of through the fleece.

To ensure that the activated carbon can develop its full effect, it should be placed evenly in the filter and well circulated. After about one to two weeks, it loses its absorption power and should be replaced to prevent the release of bound substances. Activated carbon is particularly useful after medication treatments or in cloudy water. It ensures clean, clear water and permanently supports the biological balance in aquariums, koi ponds, ponds or indoor tanks.Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
10 litres of activated carbon is sufficient for approx. 10,000 litres of water.
For faster effectiveness, twice the amount, i.e. 10 litres, can be added to 5,000 litres of water.
The activated carbon can be kept in the water for approx. 3 months and cannot be regenerated.
