Extremely efficient feed pump that delivers very high throughput with low energy consumption. It runs extremely quietly and can, of course, be fully controlled. The motor was developed and manufactured in Germany.
The FlowFriend is a highly advanced pump that is very energy-efficient and already has the highest minimum efficiency index (MEI) of over 0.7. The minimum efficiency index (MEI) depends on both the motor power and the pump hydraulics. It was stipulated by the European Directive in 2012 in order to increase the energy efficiency of water pumps. The extraordinary efficiency of the FlowFriend becomes clear when one considers that the EU will require a minimum efficiency of 0.4 from July 2014.

The advantages of the FlowFriend are
The FlowFriend has standard speed control (600 - 2550 rpm). For control purposes, there is a display on the pump that also shows the power and the number of operating hours. Permanent magnet motors have a major advantage over frequency-controlled asynchronous motors in that they operate with remarkable efficiency even at low speeds. But they are also much more economical in the higher speed range.

With the FlowFriend, you are purchasing a permanent magnet motor that is specially designed for larger quantities of water in the delivery height range of 0 - 5 metres with incredible efficiency. The pump is also very efficient at low speeds. It is adjustable in the speed range from 600 to 2550 rpm with a power consumption of 30 - 750 watts. When used correctly, this pump pays for itself in no time thanks to its low power consumption.
The hydraulics of the FlowFriend pump have been specially developed for high flow rates at low pressure. It is a so-called mixed-flow hydraulic system, which is also frequently used in pumping stations. The optimum operating range is between 0 and 5 metres delivery head. The hydraulics have been designed to provide more pressure than an impeller pump or a system based on the airlift principle. With impeller pumps and airlift systems, it is almost impossible to pump water when there is a certain amount of back pressure, for example in the pipes, and they consume significantly more energy for the same capacity. Almost all pumps with a high flow rate (m³/h) have a pressure of more than 10 m. This high available pressure is superfluous in a good filter system, but increases energy consumption.
The hydraulics of the FlowFriend pump are made entirely of cast stainless steel (RVS316). Robust, smooth and perfectly shaped for minimal internal losses. The FlowFriend pump is equipped with a large 3" inlet and outlet (90 mm). The permissible size of dirt particles is over 15 mm. Depending on the speed, the hydraulic efficiency is between 36% and 82%.
Motor and seal
The FlowFriend pump is equipped with a high-quality shaft seal from Eagle Burgmann. The motor itself was developed and produced by one of Germany's largest and most renowned electric motor manufacturers. The efficiency of the motor is between 88% and 94%, depending on the speed.
Dry or wet runner
The FlowFriend is a dry-installed pump with shaft seal (dry runner). In terms of energy and safety, this system is far superior to so-called wet runners (in which the pump armature is located in water). This is why pumps with shaft seals are almost exclusively used in industrial applications. Since the armature and stator are extremely close together in dry-running motors, the energy loss during operation is much lower than in wet-running motors. Wet-running motors therefore always represent a compromise.
The conclusion
The conclusion regarding the pump can best be illustrated in a pump table. The pump was tested in a test setup in accordance with the following standard: NEN-EN-ISO 9906.
