Halamid is a proven, safe disinfectant that specifically targets pathogens in
koi ponds. It combats bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites – and remains compatible
with fish and plants (when used correctly).
Areas of application:
• Disinfection of pond
water• Treatment of accessories (nets, containers, filter materials)
• Support in the treatment of fish diseases, e.g. white spot disease, Costia, Gyrodactylus,
Chilodonella, Saprolegnia (fungi), bacterial water contamination, algae formation,
gill problems.

Slight biofilm formation in filters or pipes
Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- More toxic in soft water; pH value must be above 7!
- Do not use in combination with salt!
- Light disinfection/maintenance Dosage:
3 g per 1,000 L of pond water.
Application: e.g. for filter disinfection or in cases of low germ load. Not suitable for combating active parasites. - Treatment for parasite infestation (e.g. white spots):
Starting dosage: 10 g per 1,000 L of pond water. Treatment duration: 1–3 days – observe fish! If well tolerated, increase to max. 15 g/1,000 L in case of severe infestation. Increase
oxygen supply, do not use other medications at the same time. Note
the water temperature: Do not use below 12 °C or above 28 °C. - Repeat treatment for Ichthyophthirius (white spot disease): Note the life cycle –
Halamid is only effective in the free-swimming stage. Repeat treatment after 3–4 days,
depending on the temperature.
- Filters & oxygen:
During treatment: deactivate mechanical filters, bypass biological filters for up to 3 hours. Must not enter the biofilter! Halamid can reduce beneficial filter bacteria – after treatment, add new bacterial cultures if necessary. Always ensure adequate ventilation! Chlorine gas must be able to escape. - Switch off hydrochloric acid dosing systems, I-Tronic and ozone in the morning on the day of treatment.
- Disinfect accessories and plants: 1 g to 5 L tap water. Immerse for 15 minutes. Then rinse thoroughly

- After treatment: Partial water change of 25–30% recommended. Optional: Use activated carbon filter
to remove residues. Continue to
observe fish – if they show signs of stress or breathing problems, check water quality immediately.
