Premium Feed Mix is a very high-quality koi feed from Hokovit, manufactured in Switzerland.
This feed mix consists of the high-quality feed types Kenko® Growth, Colour and Kenko® Vital. With this feed series, Hokovit has packed all the ingredients into one feed that are qualitatively feasible and suitable for the optimal nutrition of high-quality koi. These varieties contain a large amount of micronutrients, as well as the exclusive herbal mixture from Kenko® Extra. You get a top-quality product without having to mix it yourself. The great thing about this mix is that Kenko® Vital is mixed in with floating pellets. Many customers have asked us to offer a floating premium mix, as some do not want sinking pellets. In addition, Kenko® Vital has a pellet size of 4.5 mm. Two different pellet sizes now make the feed mix palatable for almost all pond inhabitants.
If you take a closer look at the manufacturer (Alpha CH 31265), you will inevitably come across the exclusive micronutrient complex KOI GUARD®. This substance is contained in all of our Hokovit feed varieties and includes over 60 different herbal and plant extracts that are perfectly balanced.

We name the quality grades of the feed types according to the classification of our koi. All koi that we offer you are divided into different qualities. And we now apply these quality grades to the feed as well: Show quality – Tategoi quality – Standard quality – Special feed. Everyone knows which fish swim in their pond. So now everyone can use the quality grades as a guide. The feed reflects the koi.

series falls under this quality grade and even under show quality (Kenko Power and Kenko Extra). Do you have very good koi with high potential? Treat your favourites to really good feed. You can buy with confidence. All varieties are formulated to ensure excellent growth, colour and vitality. We only use very high-quality ingredients such as fish meal, oils, herbs and micronutrients. You won't find many varieties on the market that can compete with this brand. Try the difference. And note that the high-quality ingredients often mean that less feed is needed, as it is much more efficient and can be better processed by your koi.

The additives processed at Hokovit play a crucial role in nutrition. They draw on 48 years of experience in this field. For this reason, great importance has been attached to these ingredients in the production of Kenko® feed. We would like to briefly explain below what particular importance has been attached to:
- Tannins and bitter substances: reflex stimulation of saliva, gastric juice and pancreatic secretion, protection of the mucous membranes in the digestive tract, anti-inflammatory.
- Pungent substances: reflex stimulation of saliva, gastric juice and pancreatic secretion, increase in intestinal motility, antibacterial effect.
- Mucilage: protection of the mucous membranes in the digestive tract, binding of bacteria, anti-inflammatory.
- Flavonoids: antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, diuretic, bile-stimulating, immune-stimulating.
- Saponins: improve absorption, reproduce ammonium ions.
- Essential oils: stimulate appetite, aid digestion, strengthen circulation, increase bile flow, promote relaxation and well-being, antibacterial.
All raw materials in Kenko feed are produced from GMO-free raw materials (GMO-free Proforest soy). The manufacturer uses only GMO-free raw materials in its operations. Long-term contracts between the feed manufacturer and the raw material producers and suppliers guarantee that GMO-free raw materials are always available in sufficient quantities.
Fish meal and fish oil from sustainable production (organic certified): Only fish meal and fish oil
from sustainable production are used. This involves using by-products from the processing of fish that have been caught exclusively for human consumption and whose catch quotas are set by binding European Union guidelines. The problematic and frowned-upon fish meal from so-called rotten fishing is not used in Kenko products. This conserves resources and prevents overfishing of the world's oceans.
HOMEXAN-STIMUL CONCENTRATE (HSC):
This unique combination of HOKOVIT from various yeast extract fractions and their mixing ratio promotes the growth of desirable lactic acid and bifidus bacteria flora in the digestive tract. This makes it considerably more difficult for pathogens (e.g. coli bacteria) to colonise the intestine. This stabilisation of the intestinal flora not only has a positive effect on animal health, but also has excellent effects on the early development of the digestive tract. The immunity of the koi is optimised. At the same time, digestive performance increases, so that more feed is absorbed and digested more easily.
Another effect of HSC is that the added yeast extracts stimulate the immune system and contribute to detoxification. On the one hand, this is due to the "ion exchanger effect". Toxins are irreversibly bound to the surface of the yeast extracts. This relieves the liver (detoxification) and the body's defences. On the other hand, these yeast extracts cause constant stimulation of the body's defences, which recognise them as potential pathogens.
Special substances extracted from yeast in HSC are needed in large quantities when the body's cells divide. It is therefore obvious that optimal development and high daily growth can be achieved if the supply of these limiting yeast extracts is significantly improved via HSC.
High performance is characterised by an increased cell division rate. HSC contains yeast extracts to promote rapid cell division. An increased cell division rate (faster growth) promotes the development of the animals and also stabilises digestive, organ and immune functions. The entire metabolism is stimulated. At the same time, maintenance requirements are reduced because the energy required for cell division can be saved. This effect is particularly evident in the epithelial cells of the small intestine, the cells of the immune system and in the liver cells. This also leads to better efficiency and utilisation of all nutrients ingested.
GII:
This development from Hokovit consists of branched-chain polypeptides, bioactive amino acids and peptides, as well as polyunsaturated fatty acids. Due to the use of germinated plant seeds, GII contains a variety of branched-chain polypeptides (BCP) and non-essential amino acids. These substances have a positive effect on the formation of muscle tissue. Taken together, these substances stimulate and maintain performance and metabolism, keeping fish healthy and in good condition. The diverse combination of unsaturated fatty acids in GII has an important influence on the negative effects of stress reactions. GII reduces the effect of stress hormones in animals. Less stress means calmer animals with better performance. And koi that can live a long and happy life.
Colostrum:
Pure, dried, top-quality cow colostrum, rich in colostral protective substances. Koi benefit from the addition of colostrum to their daily diet due to the multitude of natural active ingredients that also act on the intestines: immunoglobulins, blockers for harmful microorganisms, interferon, lactoferon, lactoperoxferon, oligosaccharides, polypeptides, insulin-like growth factors, nucleotides.
We certainly don't want to bore you with this complete list. With this detailed explanation, we want to show that there is much more to producing good feed than meets the eye. And what is most important is that not all colourful pellets contain the same ingredients. That is why we at Hokovit refer to ourselves as a manufacturer. Feed your koi 1-3 times daily, depending on the water temperature. As a complete feed for koi carp, between 0.2% and 1.5% of the fish's weight, depending on the water temperature and season.
