Siporax® Pond protect offers the advantages of Siporax and plastic media in one. Siporax is the filter medium with by far the largest surface area for bacteria colonisation (210m²/litre).
sera siporax pond protect Professional is a biological filter medium with an abrasion-resistant Protect Ball, specially developed for use in filter systems with strong water movement. The outer shell protects the inner siporax ring and directs the water flow directly into it. This allows the sintered glass ring to be flowed through even more effectively and increases the nitrification performance of the filter bacteria through maximum oxygen input.
The inner siporax has been proven to provide ideal colonisation conditions for filter bacteria thanks to its porous, unique 3D tunnel structure. The surface area required for colonisation is maximised and pollutant degradation is maximised. The result is biologically clean water and a particularly long filter service life.

The dosage depends on the existing stock. 145 balls are required per 1,000 grams of fish. For a moderately stocked pond with approx. 200 g of fish and a maximum stock of 1,000 g of fish per 1,000 litres of pond volume, a 10-litre pack containing 210 balls will last for 1,500 to 7,300 litres, and a 50-litre pack containing 1,050 balls will cover 7,350 to 37,000 litres.
To easily calculate the amount required, multiply the weight of the fish (in grams) by a factor of 0.145. This will give you the number of balls required.
