Siporax® Pond
Siporax® Pond, fired porous ceramic, is the filter medium with by far the largest surface area for bacteria colonisation (210 m²/litre).
Siporax® Pond provides ideal conditions for a wide variety of bacteria to break down ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Millions of bacteria find optimal support on the large, rough surface and inside the product. They are supplied with sufficient oxygen and process ammonium into nitrite. Inside the tunnels, oxygen-poor conditions prevail. The bacteria are further stimulated to break down the nitrate in order to obtain sufficient oxygen. In this way, nitrate is also continuously reduced. Residual amounts of nitrate are consumed as food by aquatic plants.
Siporax® Pond increases the breakdown of pollutants in every filter many times over.
1 litre of Siporax® Pond has the same biological breakdown capacity as approx. 34 litres of ceramic filter material. You can obtain this medium in original quality from Koi Company.
The diameter is Ø 25 mm.
Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The manufacturer recommends 1 litre of Siporax® Pond per cubic metre of pond volume.
Please note: 10 litres of Siporax correspond to only 2200 grams, and 50 litres of Siporax correspond to 11 kg.
Please replace after 8–10 years.
