Do you have the right accessories for your visit to the vet?
In order for your vet to be able to help you properly, they need a basic set of accessories for your koi pond. Without these accessories, they cannot do their job properly and the fish will become stressed. These accessories include a landing net, a treatment tank and a transfer net. For large ponds, you need two landing nets or a trawl net to catch the fish in the first place. If these accessories are available, you will make your vet's job a lot easier.
The landing net must be at least as large as the largest fish and the handle should be long enough to reach all areas of the pond. Wide-meshed nets can damage the fins of koi carp.
The landing net must always be large enough to comfortably accommodate the largest fish.
Preferably a square tub, as long as it is large enough for the biggest fish. The tub must not have any sharp edges.
