The self-limiting parallel heating cable for koi pond heating consists of two tinned copper conductors (1.2 mm). In addition, this core element is surrounded by an insulating sheath and a protective braid made of tinned copper strand (resistance max. 0.0180hm/m according to VDE 0254). This increases the mechanical strength of the heating cable. The heating cable thus complies with all the latest international standards. An outer sheath made of heat- and chemical-resistant plastic is applied over the protective braid, which serves as corrosion protection for the braid and touch protection for the entire system. The heating tape is laid out according to the contour of the pond. The self-limiting characteristic of the heating tape prevents overheating even if the heating tape overlaps.
The energy consumption of the system is sensibly limited by a control system. The electronic controller, with a large LED display, is easy to adjust but is installed in a closed IP 65-rated housing to prevent accidental adjustment of the temperature. The 4-metre-long sensor allows you to determine the correct measuring point. You just need to make sure that the sensor is not lying on the heating tape. Everything in this system is pre-assembled and ready to plug in, so all you have to do is lay the heating tape, position the sensor and set the temperature after plugging in the waterproof connector. The system is then ready for operation.
The heating tapes are made to measure. Allow 10 metres of heating tape per 10,000 litres. The energy requirement for continuous operation is 40 watts/metre x heating tape length.
