How do linear pumps and compressors work?

Linear diaphragm air pumps and compressors are positive displacement pumps. They use electromagnetism to transfer power to a diaphragm that delivers air via valves. The current creates an alternating magnetic field in the coils, which causes the magnet carrier to oscillate. A diaphragm/piston is attached to the end of the magnet carrier, through which the air is conveyed through the pump valves.

Linear gas pumps and compressors are oil-free, so they do not require lubrication. In addition, these pumps have no wearing or sliding components. Their housing is made of durable and robust materials that protect against environmental conditions.

The slightly higher initial purchase price always pays off in terms of better performance and absolute durability. These compressors are characterised by high performance and low consumption. These low-noise pumps have proven themselves to be reliable long-runners in large fish farming facilities and fish farms.

The diaphragms are excluded from the warranty as they are wearing parts.

Wear and tear on the diaphragms is caused by improper handling of the aeration pump.

- Air pumps must always be protected from the weather.

- It is also important that they are not exposed to excessively high (+40°C) or low (below 5°C) temperatures, as well as humidity (filter shaft/chamber). This leads to rapid wear and tear and even defects

- They should also not be too far away (we recommend max. 2 to 4 metres) from the pond

- Please note that they take in air from the surrounding area and feed it into the pond. In winter, this could mean that you cool down your pond without meaning to.

- If possible, they should also be positioned above the waterline. If this is not the case, please use non-return valves. If water enters the pump, this is not covered by the warranty.

- The label normally indicates the litres of air per minute that the pump discharges. Sufficient and/or suitable air diffusers must also be used in this regard.

- We recommend 9 mm or 16 mm air hose to ensure that the pump works efficiently (from 80 litres/minute, 16 mm air hose can already be used).

The series has an integrated diaphragm protection switch. If there is a defect in the diaphragm, the switch trips automatically to protect the pump. You can replace the diaphragm and push the switch back to its original position, and the pump will run perfectly again.

The pumps are also equipped with an integrated thermal protection switch that trips in the event of overheating (pump does not run) and switches off again once the pump has cooled down (normal operation).
