We offer standard floor drains for EPDM foil, PVC foil and GRP ponds in a very heavy-duty design.

This is made of ABS plastic. It consists of the drain pot, the dome cover, a spacer that regulates the distance between the cover and the floor, and a sealing ring that holds the membrane in place. The sealing ring and floor are fixed with stainless steel screws. All of this is included in the scope of delivery of an ABS floor drain.

The floor drain is used to extract water from the floor and transport it to the filter by means of a pipe using gravity. The floor drain is connected with a 110 mm pipe. A maximum of 10,000 litres per hour can flow through this pipe. Pipes from the floor drain to the filter are always laid separately, i.e. if there are two floor drains, two pipes are routed directly to the filter and are not connected in any way.

This would reduce the flow velocity and halve the flow rate of the floor drains.

The most important rule:

Always use a separate pipe for each drain (floor drain and skimmer), always with a diameter of 110 mm (do not reduce).

For example, with two floor drains and one skimmer, three pipes lead to the filter, which means a flow rate of 30,000 litres/hour. The filter must therefore be designed accordingly and the pump should deliver approximately the same amount in the return flow. If it delivers too little, dirt will settle in the inlet pipes; if it delivers too much, it will empty the filter. These components must always be coordinated with each other.

The film can be securely bonded using the enclosed sealing ring and Inntoec® Adheseal. If you wish to use GRP or EPDM film, clean the floor drain beforehand, roughen it slightly and apply the GRP or EPDM film directly to the floor drain. When handled correctly, optimum sealing is guaranteed. To ensure that the floor drain stands on a stable surface, you should fix it with concrete or screed concrete.
Under the pond floor, the film, GRP or concrete, we always recommend using 110 mm PVC pressure pipes and bonding the pipes with Inntoec® Adheseal. This will ensure that you never have problems with leaky sleeves again.
