AquaForte presents the new Ultrabead filter! After more than 17 successful years, Europe's most popular bead filter is now being followed by a new generation. Bead filters are closed (pressure) filters filled with a few million plastic beads. The beads provide both mechanical and biological filtration. As the filter is used over time, the biofilm around the beads becomes thicker, trapping even very fine dirt particles (down to 10 microns!). When selecting a pump, you can calculate a back pressure of 3 m water column. Our own sales facility is also equipped with bead filters.
The Ultra Bead Filter 100 has a water throughput of 24,000 litres per hour and is suitable for a pond size of 40m².
The advantages of this filter are:
- Thanks to its closed design, the filter can be installed both above and below pond level; the 6-way valve makes this possible.
- The filter is equipped with a blower as standard, which produces a huge amount of air to ensure that the beads are cleaned optimally.
- With the 6-way valve, you can filter, backwash, bypass (past the filter) and pump out the pond.
- You can install the filter in no time at all.
- The beads have a huge surface area of 1600 m²/m³.
- Delivery includes beads, blower and bypass
- Material: indestructible thermoplastic, max. operating pressure 2.5 bar
- The standard bypass included in the scope of delivery ensures lower pressure loss and optimum flow
- You should protect the blower from moisture with the optional ball valve. This way, you can be on the safe side.
The filter should be operated with a pressure pump.
The bypass allows the use of energy-saving pumps. The 6-way valve is bypassed during filtration so that the water flows directly into and out of the filter. During flushing, the gate valves are closed and the water flows through the 6-way valve. Thanks to its threaded couplings, the bypass system is very easy to install on all bead filters. The inlet and outlet on the UB 60 and UB 100 are designed for 63 mm. On the UB 140, it is 75 mm.

The UVC device must be installed after the filter.
Gravity installation is only possible with a slotted screen in front of it.
- Delivery is made on a pallet by a forwarding agent.
- The pressure gauge should not be used as a flushing indicator, as is the case with sand filters (swimming pools), as in this case the filter would not be flushed for too long.
- The Ø specification for the filters (mm) does not refer to the widest point of the filter. The protrusion adds another approx. 5 cm.
