The consistency of the bacteria has been improved and increased. The liquid is now slightly cloudy. The strong odour is also normal and harmless.
The composition of classic filter bacteria is ideal for starting or refreshing the filter. Measurements clearly show that our bacteria work optimally and break down pollutants quickly.
These bacteria are alive. You will not notice this when you open the bottle. The smell is neutral. We have deliberately avoided using gel or colouring, as the bacteria eat the additives, resulting in unsightly skin formations and dented canisters. The bacteria remain stable in the solution and are in a dormant phase. They are only activated when added to the pond water.

Apply the liquid bacteria directly to the filter material. In a multi-chamber filter, add to the penultimate chamber. They will spread over the material and can thus develop optimally. Ensure good ventilation after application. In a bead filter, add under the screen of the pre-filter.
Start your filter with one litre of filter bacteria per 10,000 litres of pond volume. For subsequent dosing or after medication, please use 0.5 litres per 10,000 litres of pond volume. We recommend monthly subsequent dosing.
Switch off UV and ozone systems for 24 hours after adding the bacteria.
When using with sturgeon in the pond, please aerate sufficiently, as the oxygen content decreases immediately after adding filter bacteria due to the immediate activity of the bacteria.
Suitable for water temperatures above 12°C.
What can you do if it burns? A koi pond
cannot burn, this is only meant in a figurative sense, but everyone has experienced a filter that no longer works. There can be many reasons for this: medication, pump failure, etc. In any case, the filter is not working. Often, no ammonium can be measured, but the nitrite refuses to disappear. For years, we have recommended a treatment with filter bacteria for the pond for such problems and have achieved the best results with this. Let's take a 25,000-litre pond as an example. Proceed as follows: Week
1 – 2.5 litres of filter bacteria Week 2 – 500 ml Nitrifix Week
3 – 1.25 litres of filter bacteria Week 4 – 250 ml Nitrifix
Week 5 Week – 1.25 litres of filter bacteria Week 6 – 250 ml Nitrifix Week
7 – 1.25 litres of filter bacteria Week 8 – 250 ml Nitrifix
After that, your filter should be working properly again. We recommend regular water changes (10% per week) and moderate filtration.
Be careful with sturgeons in the pond! Even the smallest changes in the water can alter your water parameters and oxygen levels so significantly that it can harm the sturgeon.

- Bei angebrochenen Kanistern haben die Bakterien natürlich noch mehr Kontakt zu Sauerstoff. Dadurch reagieren die Bakterien noch stärker. Wenn es zu einer Kahmhaut kommt, können Sie diese abschöpfen. Sie können diese aber auch mit in den Teich geben.
Ich habe Flocken in den Bakterien
- Hierbei handelt es sich um Autoaggregation. Bakterien produzieren Enzyme und die Enzyme sind schleimig. Dadurch können sich die Bakterien verklumpen. Dies hat keinerlei Auswirkung auf die Wirksamkeit der Bakterien. Es zeigt vielmehr die Lebendigkeit der Bakterien.
